One night in early 2015, my husband and me were chatting beneath the stars when he had a lightbulb moment. He told me that I should publish the book that I had written in 2002. That's how this journey began. I didn't know a thing about self-publishing and after a few hiccups (and a few thousand dollars wasted), I finally emerged into the world as an Author. I like to capitalize "Author". It's a title I am proud of. My very first book is a romance with suspense elements (a villain lurks in the shadows!) After that, I tried my hand at time travel, having been inspired by Jack Finney's famous novel "Time and Again". I have since branched out into horror, paranormal romance, thrillers, literary fiction, and I have two flash fiction collections available. I do enjoy writing horror the most. There's something hauntingly beautiful about the dark and mysterious side of life.
What's next? The ultimate dream. So many times readers have come to me to tell me that my books "read like movies", and that they can picture the story in their heads as if they are watching a film. That's what I want. I want to sit in a darkened theater and see my words come to life. I want to see my characters come to life. I know I will sit there and annoy the other movie-goers with my crying, but after half a century on this earth, and many speed bumps along the way, I know in my heart that this is what I deserve. This is my passion. Writing is in my blood, and if it can "happen to them", why can't it happen to me? I plan to leave a legacy behind and there is nothing standing in my way. I want to entertain the world with my stories. Through those stories, people will know who I am, and when I am gone, I'll leave a piece of me behind, whether I get that book-to-movie deal, or not. To know me, you'll know that there's a heartbeat in my pen.
